I have been there and it's beautiful. Amicalola is less than a 30 minute drive though ;)

Ahhh, it's the Reichenbach Falls for me! I saw/heard it from a distance and it was just perfect.

Yes there's always the Grand Canyon plus Bryce and Zion, and many others. There is so much to see all over this country. I've been lucky enough to see most of it over the years.

Not far from where I live is the Amicalola Falls. It has a 729 foot waterfall, the largest east of the Mississippi. I take Heidi there occasionally, so I can get canine assist climbing all those steps.

Canyonlands/Islands In The Sky remains the most breathtaking thing I've ever seen.

I was up there after wandering about and met a park ranger - I was just gobsmacked at the beauty and he agreed it was much better than the Grand Canyon. I have to agree - kept a photo of it as my wallpaper for years.

None of the images online do it justice http://www.examiner.com/images/blog/wysiwyg/image/groverlook.png

I like the southwest a lot. From the painted desert to Phoenix - love it all. My favorite is probably Arizona. I spent a happy couple of days around Tombstone, locating the Clanton ranch etc. Boot Hill is worth a visit.

I like to visit the Lowell Observatory. In the evenings you can look through the Clark telescope.

Then there's the Saguaro national park.

But my home state of Georgia has plenty to see too!

I like the Mid West and canyon/desert areas, until I get to New Mexico - I don't like NY or LA much at all.

Never been to New England et al. Is it worth a special trip? Avoided Florida as I'm bug bait.

So much for that EU demos. Majority of people in favour of free movement but only with countries they actually feel some kind of connection to.

Don't forget Canada. The US is not really like the UK in many ways.
Indeed, certainly outside New York and New England. Canada was the 6th most popular destination

Just driven southbound down the M5 and stopped at services just north of Junction 12. Had Sunday lunch which was superb. The place is not set like a normal service station and has been buried into a hill. Clean tidy and fairly new I think as I do t remember noticing it before as we always stopped at MIchael woods further south.

We all winge about services on motorways but I can Highly recommend if you are passing on M5 ( southbound only) . They appear to have others around the country as well and if they all like this then you will not be disappointed.

Edit - prices are also very competitive and not like normal service stations that charge the earth.

The problem with this is free movement between UK and Aus/Can/NZ does not factually exist. It has the same basis in reality as Narnia.

Many of you will know that Australia has a points-based age-and-profession immigration threshold. If you do not meet that threshold they will not let you in. Free movement from UK to Australia does not exist.

Given this, the poll you have just quoted gains no traction in reality. It would be equally valid for you to quote "5% of people polled would prefer to visit the Moon".

If you bring about free movement between UK and Australia then I would strongly support it. But until you do, the poll is describing support for a fiction.
