    It would be marvellous if posters would observe the easily grasped distinction between views on immigration, and views on race. I you depend on social housing, state education, the NHS and low-skill jobs it is rational to want the competition for any of those things to be lesser rather than greater. It is both charitable, and the view favoured by the overused but valid Occam's razor argument, to accept that the only realistic way to fine tune competition is by controlling immigration, and therefore objection to immigration is essentially objection to competition and only contingently objection to foreigners. Though od course because of the overlap between the two classes, if you want to find xenophobia, you are going to find it.
