To be real pedantic Donegal extends further north than anywhere in Northern Ireland - so it's not really 'Northern' Ireland.

To be really pedantic, that point would only be true if it was "Northernmost" Ireland... :)

Good to hear the NHS boss is backing legalisation, given the addiction risk to kids in the current system why would anyone want drug dealers continuing to decide who is old enough to buy marijuana?
From that article: “ But campaigners said it would be wrong to decriminalise a narcotic linked to mental illness, organised crime, violence and road deaths...”

At least two of those things are a direct result of criminalisation, not decriminalisation - and the other two about consumption, not the legal status of the substance.

There is simply no logic in the arguments against decriminalisation.

(And FWIW, I strongly disapprove of recreational use of cannabis.)

"U.S. withdraws from U.N. Human Rights Council

The expected announcement comes a day after the U.N.'s top human rights official criticized the Trump administration's "zero tolerance" immigration policy."

Nothing very amazing, but interesting that a referendum in Ulster on unity with Ireland is now close to a toss-up:

Still a 5% pro UK lead and deeply divided on sectarian lines, 86% of Protestants and 97% of DUP voters and 90% of UUP voters want to stay in the UK, 90% of Catholics and 98% of SF voters and 78% of SDLP voters to join the Republic

Interesting that Sajid Javid has rejected Hague's view on cannabis.

The fact there is even a debate amongst the Tories on this shows huge change looks n my opinion. Can't have imagined such a senior Conservative come out with Hague's words even 5 yrs ago

Trump is quite right. The West's policy on illegal immigration is totally hypocritical. We all sign up to a convention that says we have to take every genuine refugee, which we have no intention or ability to do, and then we try to stop them arriving to prevent them claiming asylum but incentivise them to make the journey by saying they can stay if they do arrive. In the US, the same game where they simultaneously say they want to stop people crossing the Mexican border illegally but then reward people who make it.

Australia proved how to stop this - mandatory detention for all illegal entrants and asylum seekers and turn back anyone you see coming. The incentive to come was removed and the flow of refugees magically stopped almost overnight.

If people who cross the Mexican border illegally know they will be arrested and be separated from their family, they will stop coming.

The race is now on to stop Trump implementing his plan before he can be proved right.

It reminds me of the fact that Alan Duncan wrote a book which included a section advocating the legalisation of drugs about 15 years ago, although the chapter on drugs only appeared in certain editions IIRC.

The more I listen to Sky News with their exclusive reports from Europe the more I am convinced the EU are feeding them negatives knowing Sky and Faisal Islam will report them diligently and always anti Brexit.

I cannot ever recall Faisal Islam making any criticsm of the EU, Barnier or anyone else in the EU.

I have taken to switching the sound off when he comes on as I could write his comment piece myself

    Other channels are available!
But we are entitled to balanced reporting from our main broadcasters. The BBC do seem to be more balanced
I agree, but if you don't think they're balanced you should vote with your feet (well, remote).
But Islam is so extreme that he should be captioned as an EU advocate, rather than just being a presenter or whatever he is officially. His devoted one-sidedness is embarrassing from a professional newsman.

Sky might be on the side of business.

I don't understand why children are being separated from their parents. Either they are legal migrants and the family stays together in entering the USA, or they're illegal migrants and the family stays together in not entering the USA.

As one of the people who used marijuana i think legalizing it in our country is ok. Many of us nowadays used marijuana as medicine for there illness. I have witnessed one of my friend who continuously using CBD as one for her medicine to treat her breast cancer. And this article shows https://www.worldwide-marijuana-seeds.com/blogs/marijuana-news/how-should-america-proceed-with-marijuana not only in America should be legalized this but all over the world also.
