Have Remainers forgotten that they lost to a bus last time?
They didn't lose to a bus. They lost to the anti-immigration rhetoric of the leave campaign.
    No they didn't.
    Ask HYUFD about the polling.
The polling shows that anti immigration rhetoric didn't win 52% of the vote.
You might as well say that people who care about the curvature of bananas were the key swing voters.
All 17.4 million votes counted. There were no key swing voters there were simply more voters than for Remain.

    One of them at least.

Edit: Actually I don't think Javid is a lay at those odds, I was trolling @rottenborough. Hunt, Gove and Javid are all possible. Boris is unlikely but can't be excluded; however, those odds are too short. Then there's a longer tail of more speculative possibilities amongst the cabinet.

Any Tory MPs oppsoing BoJo in a future leadership election should just suggest their colleagues re-read chapter 30 of All Out War. That'll put paid to his campaign.

    Yup.

During the Indyref we were given an embargoed poll and embargo was scheduled to end at 3.01am.

Normally embargoes are around 10pm or midnight.

I made the mistake of posting that PB would be publishing that poll, and people kept on asking me what was the poll showing.

I think it showed a 1% swing from No to Yes.

What I said is correct what you said is moot.

Anti foreigner - pro sovereignty - pro free trade - pro-no EU regulations = no Leave.

Leave didn't win because of anti-foreignors alone. If all Leave had was that it would have lost. Leave won because it got a coalition of voters that exceeded Remains coalition. It won because of every single one of the 17.4 million people who put their X in the Leave box. All of them.

Ha, what a calamitous turn of events.

But in fairness it's 19 more votes than anyone in our Upper Chamber has received!

(Technically untrue - new Hereditary peers have to be elected in by their fellows. I'll never forget the one with 7 candidates but only 3 eligible voters. I believe that was the one where Viscount Thurso got back in.)

Kind of buries the lede that the party he represented got a quarter of a milllion votes, and that's why they got two candidates in.

I wonder how many votes British MPs would get if you had the option to vote for their party at the top instead of picking an individual.

In the Tory Party reboot, we see the scenario from the viewpoint of the one man who beat it:

TSE: Well Prime Minister, Barnier and Juncker have entered the room and are locking their arguments on us.
JOHNSON (for it is he): That's Okay.
    TSE: That's Okay?
JOHNSON: Yes, don't worry about it.
PB MEMBERS: Did he just say don't worry about it? Is he not taking this negotiation seriously?
JAVID: Merkel, Macron and Varadker have arrived and they are targeting our strategy. I don't suppose that’s a problem either?
JRM: They’re making proposals to turn us into a vassal state, Prime Minister.
JOHNSON: Alert the press to prepare to announce successful Brexit.
SOUBRY: And how do you expect us to do that while we’re not part of EFTA?
    JOHNSON: Alert the press.
JAVID: Our credibility is being hit. Border integrity at 60%.
    JOHNSON: I understand.
JAVID: Well should we, I don't know, make proposals back?
JOHNSON: No. (he drinks a cup of tea)
    JAVID: Of course not.
(the power of project fear seems to go out for a second)
PB MEMBERS: What is this? What's going on?
JOHNSON: Hmm... notify the WTO that we endorse and accept all the FTAs which the EU has already ratified, and prepare to send ambassadors to the EU countries.
    JRM: Yes, sir.
JAVID: Prime Minister, their tariffs are still up.
    JOHNSON: Are they?
    JAVID: No. They're not.
JOHNSON: Send the ambassadors. One FTA each should do it, so don't waste civil servants.
JRM: Sessions agreed with all countries. Meetings held.
    (the FTAS are easily signed)
    JRM: All tariffs destroyed, Captain.
JOHNSON: Begin rescue of the Tory Party credibility. So, we've managed to eliminate all EU interference in our national life, no one important was injured, and the successful rescue of the British economy is underway.
[Under the WTO Most Favoured Nations, (MFN), regulations, the EU cannot refuse the UK the same, best terms afforded to any other nation with which it has a Free Trade Agreement]
PB MEMBERS: How the hell did that ******* beat your test?
    TSE: I do not know.

TSE: Well, Mrs May, are you going to stay with the sinking ship?
THERESA: Permission to speak candidly, sir?
    TSE: Granted.
THERESA: I don't believe this was a fair test of my Prime Ministerial abilities.
    TSE: And why not?
THERESA: Because ...there was no way to win the 2017 election.
TSE: A no-win situation is a possibility every PM may face. Has that never occurred to you?
THERESA: No sir. It has not.
TSE: How we deal with Brexit is at least as important as how we deal with life, wouldn't you say?
THERESA: As I indicated, Admiral, that thought had not occurred to me.
TSE: Well, now you have something new to think about. Carry on.

TSE: Well Prime Minister, Barnier and Juncker have entered the room and are locking their arguments on us.
JOHNSON (for it is he): That's Okay.
    TSE: That's Okay?
JOHNSON: Yes, don't worry about it.

So you two are arguing using Star Trek Prime and Kelvin Timeline pastiches against each other.

Which would make it the [pause, deep breath] Star Trek Wars!

    Pause.

    Ah, my coat... :)

A clever way to make you think about the adjective that isn't there.
