    I now hope it is a Boris v Gove contest, as it would be as it stands now, no more Remainers to deliver Brexit we need a Leaver and who better than the 2 frontmen of Vote Leave?

    I would vote for Boris and he is more electable but Gove has the intellect to ensure Boris is really tested over the campaign and that is what we need

    Boris could easily have done more tacticals to keep Hunt 2nd.

    Problem is if he now switches votes to Hunt it'll look bad if his score falls. Though I guess he could say it's nothing to do with him.

    Johnson can easily knock Gove out so it seems right to me.

    He’ll go up (nominally) about 20-25 from the Saj and will simply donate 10 or so to Hunt.

    I encountered my first in Vienna, and remember staying on to see if I got turned upside down as it went over the top. Almost a disappointment it didn’t happen.

    It's the fact that there are Conservative MPs so alienated from the process that they can't pick from the remaining four candidates. That does not bode well for party discipline.
    Anyone who feels that alienated that they can't vote for any of the FOUR candidates remaining (two leavers and two remainers FWIW) should resign the whip.

    Firstly, it's a really, really bad time to be making enemies into even worse enemies. Johnson is going to need all those MPs' votes (as Alistair says, the spoiled ballots are a big concern). This is also the final round - over 50% for Johnson is a nice figure to trumpet. So I'm not sure there will be sizeable tactical voting from the Johnson camp.

    Secondly, as happened with Stewart and Javid dropping back when they dropped out, there is some sense of "well done, old chap, but your race is run and I'm moving on". Hunt is at risk of losing people who feel Gove has won out amongst those who remained loyal to May, so let's give him every chance with a decent final round.

    Looking ahead a Gove/Johnson contest would be brilliant for the Lib Dems. Two more hateful politicians don't exist for Remainers (other civilised people are available) and watching them take chunks out of each other for a month would be an extraordinary piece of good fortune.

    I would vote for Boris and he is more electable but Gove has the intellect to ensure Boris is really tested over the campaign and that is what we need
