May is 100% gone. She's easily in her last 24 hours as leader.

If she steps down, who is the PM? Isn't she obliged to at least begin the the next government as the leader of a minority government?

Her electoral gamble has backfired and her GE campaign has been dire. But May is likely to be the leader of the winning party in the GE with just short of a majority and therefore now arguably has a democratic responsibility to form a government, if she is in a position to do so.
