One of the ongoing narratives over the past year has been that Labour is particularly vulnerable on Brexit because about two-thirds of its constituencies voted leave in the referendum in June 2016.

    Maybe Labour won many of these leave voting constituencies because leave voters believed they were committed to leaving the EU, ending FOM and leaving the single market. Well that is was they told us in May and June.

    Had Labour not implied this was their position they may not have won those seats at all.

    PS I voted Labour to keep out the Lib Dems in my seat - but I did have a pro leave Labour MP.
