Recent opinion polls including one for the BBC put the UI vote at virtually 50/50. No one wants any problems but there is no way south Armagh is going to just sit there an be cut of from its neighbours any more than Somerset would sit there and be cut of from Devon...in contravention of an international agreement lodged at the UN? ...The GFA was a fragile balance..the fact that the border was tolerated as long as people could just deal with their neighbours as a part of Ireland does not mean acceptance when that contract is broken. The feelings on this are deep and visceral. But it won't happen. A month of grounded planes and no freight movement across England will ensure a little common sense from the 'scepter'd isle'. Such is the outcome when delusion meets reality.
