    California and NY voted Republican in the very recent past, whil Arkansas and W Virginia voted Democrat. (And, indeed, one of WV's Senators is a Democrat.)

    Half-right, but entirely irrelevant. Maybe it will reverse next time again. Maybe it will never happen. Maybe Blyth Valley will not vote Conservative again after Brexit is done and Corbyn is ditched, actually, I find that one more likely than the others.
